Friend of a friend Nic Hill, passed through Hawaii this last weekend. I didnt get a chance to link up with him and his crew since they were only in town for a short stop before heading up to Japan to film his newest endeavor Tokyo2Osaka I first became aware of Nic's film making from his graffiti epic Piece By Piece. His Newest film is featuring fixed gear cycling. Here's a few words and test shoot from the Tokyo 2 Osaka site.
We are creating a 35-minute documentary short film about the adventures of 13 amateur bicycle enthusiasts and their journey to ride fixed gear bikes from Tokyo to Osaka; a 350 mile undertaking. Brought together by their enthusiasm for bike culture and fascination for Japan, we watch the highs and lows of this epic journey as they struggle to reach the city of Osaka.
So this last Sunday was Aloha Sunday and our Death Pedal premiere. Big thanks to everyone for coming out. Kareem for hooking up Death Pedal, Jason for the Flying Coffin gear, Jules for the Leilow gear, and Chris, Justin, and Yuki at Kicks/HI for the gear as well. Big ups to Ramsey for recovering Christians bike, mucho mahalos from the entire crew, you really came through.-aloha, ryan
